Our purpose
What we do
We break down car, life, health, and home insurance concepts into clear guides — so you can understand what a policy covers, what common words actually mean, and what generally happens when you file a claim, before you talk to an insurer or an agent.
-
Car insurance
Liability, collision, and comprehensive coverage, uninsured motorist protection, and why minimum requirements differ from one state to the next.
-
Life insurance
Term versus permanent policies, beneficiaries, and the basic ideas behind how much coverage people consider for their families.
-
Health insurance
How premiums, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance fit together, what networks and out-of-pocket maximums mean, and how open enrollment works.
-
Home insurance
Dwelling and liability coverage, what a standard policy typically does and does not cover, and how deductibles apply after damage or theft.
Across all four topics, our guides focus on the same building blocks:
Clear boundaries
What we don’t do
Being clear about our limits matters as much as the guides themselves.
-
We are not an insurance company, agency, or broker. InsureWise does not issue, underwrite, or represent any policy.
-
We don’t sell policies. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell insurance, and we do not earn commissions on coverage you buy.
-
We don’t provide personalized quotes. Our guides explain concepts in general terms — they cannot price a policy for your situation.
-
We don’t collect personal information through forms. There are no quote forms, sign-up forms, or applications on this site asking for your details.
Our sources
How we write
Every guide starts from information anyone can check.
-
Based on public, reputable sources. Guides are based on publicly available information from official and reputable sources, such as state insurance departments and federal consumer resources.
-
General concepts, clearly labeled. We explain how things generally work and note where rules vary by state, rather than presenting one state’s rule as universal.
-
Updated when things change. We update guides when rules or common practices change, so explanations do not quietly go out of date.
A note on state differences: Insurance is regulated at the state level in the United States. Requirements, available protections, and deadlines can differ depending on where you live — which is why our guides flag state variation instead of glossing over it.
Transparency
How this site is funded
This site may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) to cover its costs — hosting, maintenance, and the time it takes to research and update guides.
Advertising never influences which topics we cover or how we explain them. An ad appearing on a page is not an endorsement of any insurer, product, or company, and advertisers do not review or approve our guides.

Please read: educational information only
InsureWise is an independent educational website. Content is general information about how insurance works in the United States — it is not financial, legal, or insurance advice for your personal situation. Insurance rules and requirements vary by state. Always review your policy documents or speak with a licensed insurance agent in your state before buying or changing coverage.
